I was definitely not the only speaker from Germany at the SES NYC – colleagues Marcus Tober and Marcus Tandler were also on the agenda.
That’s how I look when I am allowed to give a speech in the States. Before the speech, there was also a short interview as part of the conference promotion.

The exhibition areas at conferences in America also feel significantly bigger than those in Germany.
As the SES in New York extended over three days, some needed a break in between in order to recharge their electric gadgets.
A very popular format in the USA: Meet the Speakers. Round tables for an hour around lunchtime; each one featuring a speaker with everybody invited to ask questions and discuss issues.
On these, you are encouraged to give product reviews = User generated content online. Reviews are not only encouraged on the receipt. Cashiers also politely encourage shoppers to participate. Totally awesome! Some multi-channel traders could definitely learn something and get inspiration from that. Hats off to them!
I really made the most of my trip, not wasting any time. In addition to my talk, I was able to conduct ten high-quality interviews. These will appear in my English-language Podcast in the upcoming weeks. The novelty this time: video instead of just audio. Credit must also be given to Andreas Graap of Webschorle who gave me some tips on which equipment to use for that.
The key thing I took away from here was that I would now like to visit at least one or two conferences in the States every year. You can learn new things each time, even if not always directly through presentation. As long as you learn a lot, it’s definitely worth journey over there…. ajmalseotips.blogspot.com
