WHITE HAT SEO
Some webmasters out there might have heard about the illegal Black Hat SEO school of thought some unscrupulous webmaster employ to try to cheat their or their client's website or domain into the top spot in Google's Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS). These illegal tactics comprises: the use of link farms, hidden text and generally any pay per link services. These techniques are what fall under the umbrella of Black Hat SEO. The goal of SEO is to get the subject webpage as high up in the search rankings as possible as it is the top ranked sites that generate the most traffic.

How does White Hat SEO influence Search Engines and Rankings?

As stated above SEO aims to increase the chances that a website will be indexed and found in Google SERPs. White Hat SEO refers to the ethical ways of achieving these goals. Without White Hat SEO or SEO in general webmasters will find it very difficult if not impossible to make it into the top pages of Google's SERPs. It is the goal of all webmaster to make it as high as possible in search rankings as it is the sites that are highest in the ranking that generate the most traffic and more traffic means more revenue, sales and greater brand exposure
