Local Search Results Making It Difficult for Global Sites to Rank Top

For last few months Google is giving more privileges to local site instead of global brands. For many keywords now local sites are performing better than global sites. Some of these local sites are good for a user because he will find a local business to for any service. But if users want to get global brands then they may face some problems in getting them through search because of the local results.

For some keywords many low quality sites are performing better than high quality global sites in specific regions. In US itself Google's search results differ too much in different states.
