Changes in Installation process:

please notice there are now two file in the download package.
1) unzip the package first - don't install it!
2) Select the one of the two zip file according to your Joomla version (1.5.x or 1.6.x)
3) Unzip the right zip file, and install each of the zip files found in it.
4) install each zip file from the package separately.
5) install com_smartseo.zip first
4) then install smartseo_v0.7D.X.zip

I must agree with the user below me. I have used this product on and off for a number of clients of mine throughout the past 8 months or so.
The problem?
- 1) After you pay for the product and download it, the only way to obtain a new release is to purchase it all over again.
2) Support forum is dead
3) The last build of this barely works on Joomla 2.5 (even though they updated their JED to say it does).
4) When the software doesn't work, and you email customer support, if they can't solve it for you they just ignore you.
5) The product will just STOP working on a site that where it once worked due to "permission" issues; and really there is no way to fix it because... the developers have NOT, and I repeat, have NOT updated this extension properly.
This extension used to work and when it did, it was amazing... but good luck getting it to do anything right now other than break. Sometimes it might work, most of the times it won't work and the developers website is, like I said, dead. They are still selling a 1.7 version which is super buggy while claiming it works on 2.5. Go ahead, spend $25 and tell me that you can get it to work on 2.5.My First Negative Review
As the title says, this is my first negative review.
I have a Joomla/Virtuemart site and was quite excited to see SmartSEO with a lot of good reviews. It installed easily and seemed to work. However changed data was not been saved and reverted to the original data on page refresh.
I tried a few things I found in posts by people with the same problem - none of which worked for me.
*** My main gripe is the lack of support - it is non existent ***
I read the reviews here and saw the devs tell someone else to email info@jjextensions.com with any problems. So I have emailed this address a couple of times with my problem without any reply. I also CCd in the address used to accept my payment - no reply.
I have submitted a support ticket via the devs website - again without reply.
I have also added a post in the devs support forum - again again without reply. The support forum has a few posts asking for help - without reply.
I am not a new user, and have used many plugins across many sites. However when paying money to use a COMMERCIAL version of a plugin/component I do expect even the most basic levels of support.
The only positive is that it was not expensive to purchase and try out. For me it has not worked and I have now moved onto another solution.
